Arriving at Málaga airport

If you don’t want to hire a car service, there are other options to get from the airport to the city centre. 

Taking the train from the airport to the city centre

There is a local train service at Málaga airport called cercanías. The train takes you to the city centre in 11 minutes and costs 1€80 per person. 

There are signs in the airport that will take you to the train station. The station you will have to get off at is by the Alameda Principal, which is opposite CAC Malaga, an art museum. 

Trains run every 20 minutes, from 6:44 am to 00:54 am.

Taking the bus from the airport to the city centre

You can take the A bus from the airport to the city centre. It goes by several stops. Like for the train, there are signs that will take you to the bus stop, which is on the main esplanade.

Depending on traffic, the bus takes 15 to 30 minutes. It is more expensive than the train, costing 4€ per passenger

Buses run every 20 to 25 minutes, from 7 am to midnight.

Taking the taxi from the airport to the city centre

Several taxi companies can take you from the airport to the city centre. Taxis will take at least 15 minutes, depending on traffic and on where you are headed to in Málaga. 

Taxis are the most expensive travel option, costing anywhere from 17 € to 22 € depending on the time of day. You may also be charged extra for luggage. 

Though more expensive than the other travel options, taxis will take you exactly where you need to go, so you can avoid the hassle of lugging your baggage around with you.
